Dave and I had the opportunity to go to Logan Ut. to my niece Lissa's wedding Oct. 17, there was a wonderful breakfast in the Copper Mill restaurant, the ceremony in the Logan Temple and the reception in Id., it was just a great trip. We took my sister Colleen and other extended family /friend April Rehiese with us. The reception was in Clifton, Idaho so we traveled up to the reception that evening. On our way we looked for and found the grave of my third great grandfather Jefferson Hunt, there was also a monument there for him, and his cabin across the road. He was a Capitan in the Mormon Battalion and was sent by B. Young to settle many places in Ut., Id., and Calif. after they arrived in Ut. and completing his assignment of marching with the Battalion to Calif.
My mom 86 yrs. young was traveling with my sister and we traveled in caravan together when we found the site of the monument and grave mom was just so excited, the monument was way up on the top of a hill and she wanted to see it so much that she insisted on climbing the 76 stairs to the top, ( Lance and Dave helped her to balance) and she did, we are all amazed at her sharp mind ,but to think she could, and to see her climb those stairs was just amazing. She is a genealogy genius and that is her claim to fame, and she can connect just about any one to our family, so this was a real treat to all of us to see the place Jefferson Hunt had been and died after all he had done, it was just so fun, we are so blessed and thankful to have had such an amazing trip, it was beautiful country and fun to be with family.
